My expertise is in facilitating engaging and hands-on science workshops for primary schools and community groups, but I’ve also worked with universities, businesses and volunteered at science festivals. I’m passionate about making my workshops as creative and practical as possible so children feel like they are leading the investigation themselves.
You may have met me before when I was working at Success4All. I was the STEM Engagement Manager at Success4All, a small educational charity, for almost 10 years. My role was to create, deliver and develop innovative, creative, and engaging STEM activities, particularly aimed at supporting more hands-on and enquiry-based learning in schools and introducing science into community after-school clubs. I worked with thousands of young people, delivering STEM workshops with school groups and facilitating community after-school clubs and events.

In 2022, I worked with my brilliant colleagues at Success4All and NUSTEM (Northumbria University’s STEM outreach group), to write a report reflecting on our community STEM club. It includes what we learnt during the project, the adaptations we made and the recommendations we would share with others on the process of developing community STEM engagement projects. Key approaches that I learnt during this project, I still incorporate throughout my activities today.
