Are you working in a business or at a university and would love to get involved with school STEM days, science festivals or careers events, but are unsure what to share with school groups or your local community? Maybe you only have very limited time away from your day-to-day work to volunteer at events, which doesn't leave any capacity to develop and prepare your activity or presentation.

I can help!
I can help by developing engaging, relevant and meaningful outreach activities for primary or secondary school groups, families and/or your local community. We can find the connections to your industry or research, making sure to share about the amazing things you do in your work, whilst ensuring your activity is inclusive and appropriate, meeting your audience where they are.
I’ll support you to connect your activity to the National Curriculum, the Gatsby Benchmarks and the Enrichment framework, or all 3, wherever appropriate. This will ensure your activity will build upon and complement students' learning and real life experiences.
We can work together collaboratively starting from a blank page or from your existing activity.
Outreach activities that we can develop include: school workshops, drop-in festival activities, school assembly presentations, and community events. Often, activities can be designed to be adaptable for multiple types of events.
What this could look like:
- Meetings & site visits to understand your research or business.
- Co-creation and development of engaging learning activity suitable for intended outreach audience, bespoke to your industry or research. Includes a written activity session plan and facilitator guidance, and presentation templates or supporting activity sheets where appropriate.
- Bespoke training and mentoring for your staff to present and deliver your outreach activity, so you and your team can feel confident to share your activity with a variety of audiences.
Also available:
Introductory training workshop - “Exploring what makes an engaging STEM/careers outreach activity.”
This workshop can be a good starting point for a team or a number of representatives from different businesses who would like to explore developing their own outreach activities or engagement events.
